Updated October 30, 2025:
Community Action’s Resource Centers are open regular hours during the government shutdown. We are here to help families and individuals access ALL resources that are available for food, housing, energy assistance and more.
-
Resource Centers provide information about food banks, senior food box delivery, free meal programs, and other food resources by phone or in person in Anacortes, Concrete, and Mount Vernon: (360) 416-7585. Need help understanding or applying? Ask if a Care Coordinator can help!
 - Food Banks: View this page for the most up-to-date list of food banks in Skagit County.
 - Free Meal Programs: Need a hot meal or sack lunch? Our partners are here for you! Click here for the most up-to-date list of meal programs across the county.
 - SNAP: Continue to come to Community Action for assistance applying for SNAP/EBT/Food Stamps. DSHS will continue to accept applications, eligibility reviews, mid-certification reviews and changes, and they will be processed once federal guidance is received.
 -
WIC:
-
WIC food benefits are currently funded into mid-to-late November.
 -
Current WIC families should continue using food benefits.
 -
Families who currently receive SNAP benefits and have children under age 5, not currently participating in WIC can call the office and get an appointment to enroll.

 -
 -
Community Action’s East County Meal Program: Continuing to provide a sack lunch at Mount Baker Presbyterian Church, until the Community Center remodel is complete and hot meal program resumes.
 -
Senior Food Boxes: We are increasing from 260 monthly food box deliveries to 300. Sign up on our website or call (360) 416-7585.
 -
Donate to Community Action’s Skagit Food Distribution Center so we can purchase food for pennies on the dollar. Community Action does not run a public food bank, rather all food coming into the Skagit Food Distribution Center goes out to people through our food bank partner agencies throughout Skagit, Island, and San Juan counties. We also encourage people to donate or volunteer to support our local food bank partners. Click the links to view list of food banks and meal programs.
